Description
Slaai™ is an innovative cleansing balm that melts all traces of dirt, makeup and sunscreen from skin. Gentle enough to be used around the eye area, it quickly transforms from oil to milk upon contact with water. Skin-compatible Slaai™ effortlessly removes even water-resistant formulations and is free of PEGs and essential oils.
What it is formulated to do:
Formulated with clean, antioxidant-rich fruit extracts and oils to help soothe, plus a nourishing African oil blend of marula, baobab, kalahari melon, mongongo and ximenia, Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser cleanses and moisturizes without any irritants or sensitizers. Designed to be used on dry skin, Slaai™ removes excess oil, grime and makeup from skin. Adding water activates Slaai™ into a milk that rinses cleanly, leaving behind a dewy glow.
What else you need to know:
Slaai™ Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a unique formulation that must be applied to a dry face with dry hands to begin melting impurities away.
Key Ingredients:
- Nourishing fruit salad blend a mix of non-fragrant soothing fruit extracts (blueberry, kiwi and strawberry) and replenishing fruit oils (cranberry seed oil, acai fruit oil and watermelon seed oil) that helps comfort + moisturize skin.
- Marula seed oil a super-absorbable moisturizing oil, high in antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, that preserves and nourishes your skin while restoring its youthful glow.
- Baobab seed oil super-penetrating oil that intensely softens and helps dissolve makeup with its high fatty acid content and deep moisturizing properties. - Directions for use

Suggested use:
PM: On dry skin, use dry fingertips to massage Slaai™ over face and eyes. Add water to activate, rinse well with warm water and pat dry. May also be removed with a soft, damp cloth.
AM: (optional) 1-2 times per week, add our Bamboo Booster™ to Slaai™ for a customized, skin-refining physical exfoliation to aid in the removal of dead skin cells that have accumulated on the surface overnight. Avoid the eye area when using the exfoliating booster. Tip: If using retinol, we recommend avoiding Bamboo Booster™, or using with caution, as it can be too much for skin.

Dislike this a lot!
It really doesn't smell good, irritates my eyes and doesn't emulsify. I am very dissatisfied with this product... Especially for the price!

Slaai Cleanser - Five Stars, DE - Three Stars.
DE's Slaai melting butter has been my Canadian Winter go-to since it first hit the market in 2019. The blam's gentle cleansing formulation, which includes high-quality ingredients, effectively removes makeup and sunscreen and doesn't dry out my skin. It's a personal preference, but I find the slight veil of residue that remains after rinsing the product beneficial for my dry skin. I always double-cleanse; a little goes a long way. The 110-gram tub, on average, lasts about four months. I'm giving the Slaai cleanser three stars instead of five because 1. The price has increased by three dollars for the same amount of product. 2. DE removed the small magnet on the back of the scoop spoon. The spoon was redesigned to 'clip' onto the top of the lid, and the spoon itself is more shallow and feels flimsy compared to the original design. 3. The bamboo beads have always been unnecessary, and their inclusion adds to the price. 4. DE packaging materials have changed, and the Slaai container, like the small spoon, is not at the same level of quality as it once was. Finally, this product was launched in 2019, and while it has been tried and true since then, there are currently less expensive balms on the market that are comparable to the DE Slaai product that cost a lot less. I am a long-time user of DE products, but once my current container of Slaai is finished, I'm not sure I want to part with another $50 when I can find a cheaper alternative that works just as well. DE needs to read the room because long-time users like myself are now looking for more affordable options in light of this company's continual product price increases.

Dissolves ALL makeup...
Removes even waterproof mascara, but you have to be very careful not to get it in your eyes or it will BURN! As a cleansing balm, I use it on an evening to remove foundation and makeup, and once a week I add a bit of the bamboo booster (bamboo flakes and charcoal powder) to create a scrub. Is it necessary? Not really. If you already have a scrub, that'll do the trick. The balm smells like old cooking oil. I prefer my skincare to be fragrance free, but this one's pushing it! Once I've added water and it all emulsifies, I rinse off and follow with a normal cleanser. Performance-wise it doesn't work quite as well as my Clinique go-to, but not that far behind either! ~ My Top 5 Beauty Must-Have list ~ 1. Hair Loss Treatment: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Hair Oil 2. Shampoo: 'Sephora Collection' - Deep Cleaning Shampoo 3. Face Mask: ‘Peter Thomas Roth’ – Pumpkin Enzyme Mask 4. Pigmentation/Anti-Aging Serum: ‘Divine Herbal’ - Facial Serum 5. Face Scrub: ‘Sisley' - Botanical Gentle Buffing Cream

Incredibly refreshing and removes even the heaviest makeup with aplomb. Adore the little spoon to keep things hygienic.

Works fine but there are similar products that are cruelty free. I’ve switched to Milk’s!

Worth your money!
If you don't use makeup everyday this will last you a while, over 1 year! My only complaint is that when rubbing on the eyes and washing it off, it gets foggy but once you go back in with a face cleanser. Its fines. It does sting a little. The booster rxfoliant is nice!

Cation
When I use this product it has a fast way of removing my makeup, although when I put it on my eyes it stings, try to keep this away from your eyes.

Slaai Makeup - Melting Butter Cleanser
Removes the makeup - hate the smell!
This removes my makeup quite well, including waterproof mascara, but if you are sensitive to scents I don’t recommend. It has a strong cucumber smell.
