Soothing Moisturizer
Daily alternative to foundation
This product isn’t perfect, but it’s the best I can get my hands on for its purpose. I have mild rosacea, with splotchiness and the tendency to turn bright red in the face if I rub my skin or laugh too hard. I finally realized that the main reason I don’t feel confident without face makeup is redness, so I’ve been using this moisturizer during the day in lieu of foundation, and it makes a noticeable difference in my redness. The thick, almost clay-like texture of this moisturizer is a little annoying. I have to rub it in really good, and I find that it does not work well in tandem with certain other products (other reviewers mentioned pilling, which I’ve experienced but simplifying my routine took care of that problem). However, I will say that this moisturizer helps with visible oiliness while I wear it, which may be due to its thick texture. I also never wear it with foundation as the whole point of this moisturizer, for me, is to mask redness when I don’t wear makeup. I feel that over time, my redness has calmed, but I can’t say for sure if that’s attributed to this moisturizer or to other products/variables such as weather, etc. Lastly, I only use this moisturizer on my face! I use another moisturizer on my neck, which has no redness, because this one will leave a green cast. If you don’t struggle with redness, don’t use this product! For me, I just ordered this moisturizer for the third time because I can’t imagine either wearing makeup every day or walking around like a tomato.
