This was not what I expected- it was more of a highlight powder and very shiny. I wouldn't use all over my face.

Wasnt what was advertised

It was way darker in person. It didnt really set my makeup. Made me look pink and cakey? Also it seemed like it has highlight, dont know whats matte about it

I thought it was similar to the other setting powder but it definitely has a glow to it. The cosmic rose was very complimentary to my complexion. It tampered down my oily needs. I would buy again just didn’t care for the puff.

I like the weight of this powder & how it can highlight certain area of my face.

Absolutely love this product!

I love the way that this product sits on my skin. I also love that it serves multiple functions for me...it is my bronzer and my highlighter. I also feel that this product doesn’t leave too much shine or a chunky glitter, but a nice sheen.

A “no” for me but a “yes” for someone else

So when I first used it as an all over setting powder I wasn’t feeling it at all. The color is beautiful but I thought it was too shimmery for an all over setting powder. However, I decided to just give it a shot and go out anyway. To my surprise I actually got a lot of complements on my skin. It definitely took some time to get used to it. I do make sure to not use too much product tho. For anyone who hasn’t yet, you need to take a selfie with it all over. It makes ur skin look so perfect and radiant with no flashback. I love that it’s versatile and can be used to highlight your face too if u dont like it all over.

This product does not work well for my combination skin, if I use it as described. I was a little surprised to even seen it labeled as a setting powder since they do have a their matte and dewy versions already. I expected to be closer to the hourglass ambiant lighting powders, but honestly this is just a highlight powder. It could be because of my very fair skin, but I was unable to find a way to not just see glitter. And I love glitter! It’s just not what I want for a setting powder.

Holy grail product. There

I’ve been using the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Light Catcher in the shade Celestial Light for a little over a month now. I’ve tried it with several different foundations and as an all- over setting powder and on the high points of my face as a highlighter. I have found that I love this as a setting powder over foundations with matte, semi- matte, and natural finish (over a dewy/ luminous foundation it can be way too much of a glow for me personally). It seems to work best when applied with the velour puff with a pressing and rolling motion. For a highlighter though you can definitely use a brush. When using the powder with a puff I noticed that it seemed to blur and smooth texture and helped some with the longevity of my makeup.

This was an interesting product. Generally speaking, I like what I'd call glow powder or luster powder. This one definitely has that luminous quality, but feels less like a setting powder even though it's advertised as such. I received this in the shade Honey Star which is for medium skin tones. The other options were for fair or deep so there could be more range options. I think the depth works for my summer hue and I have olive skin, but the undertones felt more peachy to me. Shade aside, I tried this out many ways. With a brush, it was overwhelming- like I'd applied gold highlight to my whole face and it seemed to show all the texture. With the included puff, it was much more natural and smooth. The illumination is really pretty if it's light-handed. What I found worked best for me though is to mix it in the lid with a true colorless translucent setting powder. You get some glow, but it's subtle and it helped with setting my makeup. I'll continue to use it that way when I don't want to be too glowy. It also works as a loose highlighter.
